Namibia’s new Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Director-General, Bryan Eiseb, takes office at a critical moment, with public confidence in anti-corruption efforts under strain and procurement scandals continuing to raise serious concerns.
The October 2026 edition of Procurement Tracker Namibia, titled Eiseb’s Big Task, examines the challenges facing the new ACC leadership and asks whether Eiseb can turn his commitments to stronger enforcement, transparency and whistleblower protection into meaningful action.
The bulletin sets out eight practical recommendations for strengthening procurement integrity, including the implementation of long-delayed whistleblower protection and access to information legislation. It also reveals worrying weaknesses in compliance with procurement planning requirements: only 87 annual procurement plans were publicly accessible for 2026/27, with just eight submitted by the statutory deadline.
Compiled by IPPR Research Associate Frederico Links, with financial support from the Hanns Seidel Foundation, this edition makes the case for a more proactive and effective ACC capable of tackling corruption in public procurement.
